Situation
After seven Formula E races in Diriyah/Saudi Arabia, the race was held at the Jeddah Corniche Circuit in Jeddah. This is the same venue used for the F1 Saudi Arabian Grand Prix.
However, as the regular track layout is too long for Formula E, it was shortened to 3 km (1.865 miles) with a new hairpin shortcut and four new chicanes.
Description
As a new hairpin and four chicances were added to the track layout, the circuit needed additional concrete barriers to fulfill the new concrete barrier layout requirements.
The last concrete barrier production training was held with another contractor; we executed an additional concrete barrier production training in Jeddah. During the training, we trained the workers:
- Preparing the molds for concreting
- Preparing and installing reinforcement cages
- Welding and preparing the rebars
- Installing the Key Elements
- Concreting and de-molding
Additionally, we performed a final inspection of the latest concrete barriers and fence panels installation and supported the Saudi Motorsport Company during the installation period.
