The main access to Andorra via the Ariège is the RN320, which is in a prime avalanche corridor at L’Hospitalet-près-l’Andorre. To secure this access, the South-West National Road Authority opted for a 300-meter-long concrete tunnel. This civil engineering structure requires the construction of a nailed wall to free up the inverted right-of-way.
We supported Botte Fondation’s response to the call for tenders by varying the provisional concrete nailed wall over a linear stretch of 145 meters with TECCO flexible facing. With this variant, a temporary shoring, in addition to saving time and the management of the shotcrete, the company was able to avoid placing 100 m³ of concrete while guaranteeing the perfect behavior of the structure.
